Elevated Casual Outfits for Laid-Back Lifestyles

Casual Outfits, Jeans

There is an art to coordinating comfortable casual outfits that don’t look frumpy. The method is similar to building a decadent ice cream sundae. Choosing quality basics are the rich and creamy scoops. Layering with interesting accessories is the fluffy whipped cream. And loving the way you look and feel? Pretty, please, it’s the cherry on top.

Creating casual outfits that look and feel great is the sweetest satisfaction. Building an elevated casual wardrobe doesn’t involve a personal stylist or a hefty budget. You simply need to find the silhouettes, colors and patterns that make you feel good. Then, you incorporate five easy pieces to mix and match until your heart’s desire.

First, think about colors that make you feel your best. Choose which silhouettes are most flattering for your frame. Do different patterns enhance or diminish your best features? When you have these choices pegged, you’re ready to shop.

5 PIECES TO BUILD ELEVATED CASUAL OUTFITS

Number One.

T-Shirts – Keep your closet stocked with comfortable t-shirts in flattering colors. I like v-necks in black, green and blue. They’re the perfect versatile staples for layering. You can pair them with jeans, trousers or skirts.

Number Two.

Jeans – A pair of dark-wash bootcut jeans and a pair of medium-wash boyfriend jeans are all you need. Pair them with t-shirts, blouses and sweaters.

Number Three.

Trousers – Great fitting trousers are an easy go-to for any occasion. I opt for dark colors to camouflage my hips. Pair trousers with a t-shirt or blouse and jacket or a sweater and a statement necklace.

Number Four.

Denim Jacket – This one’s a no-brainer. I wear my denim jacket with everything. They pair especially well with trousers or a casual dress.

Number Five.

Unique Accessories – Wear necklaces and bracelets that jive with your personality. And don’t overlook your handbag. Choose one that can take jeans and a t-shirt to a sophisticated level.

“I wish I invented blue jeans. They’re the most spectacular, the most practical, the most relaxed and nonchalant. They have expression, modesty, sex appeal and simplicity.”

When you have dependable basics, you have endless options. Elevated casual outfits should always consist of comfortable and flattering pieces that make you feel good inside and out. Cause when you feel good, you look good. And that’s a win-win.
